questo dipinto faceva parte originariamente di uno stendardo processionale per la fratellanza del corpus domini a urbino . Documenti relativi ai pagamenti effettuati in 1542 e 1544 esiste ancora . Già 1546 , lo stendardo era diviso . Qui , tiziano sta ripetendo la composizione del polittico della resurrezione . La più ampia gamma di colori , però , è tipico del suo lavoro poco dopo 1540 , anche se entrambe le sezioni del banner sarebbero state prodotte con l'assistenza del suo laboratorio .
